Lisa Haines is the face behind Wellness First Kids Yoga.
Lisa has an obvious passion and dedication to teaching children. Her School-based classes have become very popular amongst the 'small schools' in the Lockyer Valley and Lisa hopes to extend this to Toowoomba and the Darling Downs, in the near future.
Lisa is the mum of two gorgeous boys, Tai and Josh and she and her husband, who have spent alot of time travelling around our beautiful country, and many countries overseas, have settled here in the Lockyer Valley. Lisa's other interests include charity work, travel and photography.
Lisa has been practising yoga for many years and has always loved the physical and mental benefits. Lisa is a certified Lvl 2 Kids Yoga Teacher (through Radiant Child Yoga Program), has been trained in Iyengar Yoga and has currently just completed a further 200 hours through Samadhi Yoga studying pre-natal, kids, teenagers and family yoga. Her qualifications include a current Blue Card, First Aid Certificate and relevant insurance. Lisa also has a passion for continuing and enhancing her kids yoga programs through further involvement in kids yoga studies and education through yoga for children. Lisa is also a facilitator of Fun Friends Program which allows her to incorporate some of the techniques into her kids yoga classes.
What are the Benefits of Yoga for Children?
Yoga for children is a natural way to exercise, relax, focus and strengthen the body/mind connection. Studies show that yoga is an effective self-help therapy for ADD/ADHD, Autism and general health and well-being of ALL children.
According to research presented at the 2007 Symposium on Yoga Therapy and Research (SYTAR), children who practice yoga have more energy, are better at regulating their emotions and managing stress, and have more self-esteem.
In Lisa's class, your child will be learning how to apply the many benefits of yoga to their lives.
We have fun and do yoga to adventure stories (for the little ones), we stretch, we learn to be grateful, we build our self-esteem, we increase stamina, improve immunity, have greater balance and flexibility, improve our muscle strength and posture, have greater health and wellbeing, reduce stress and anxiety, learn how to breathe deeply and learn how to just BE.
